A Bad Day

A Bad Day
This was a print made for an exhibition in New York. All the images in the exhibition were compiled from rejected commissions. The main smoking hand motif was rejected by Random House Publishing. I think the whole image is based on depression and bad luck but is also a homage to Philip Guston. It also satisfies some of my obsession with anthropomorphism.
The series of rejections led to my company being called The Futile Vignette Company.
