This was the first thing I was able to draw after a cycling accident. An injury to the acromioclavicular joint (the bit where the clavicle meets the acromium) meant a six week layoff from cycling and a month off work.

The image relates to the frustration of not being able to ride, allied with a kind of osmosis of what I'd been looking at during that period. The obvious influences here are Jan Lenica and Saul Bass but are also in retrospect a return to my childhood obsession with drawing cowboys. Do children still draw cowboys?
