This was done during my 'Black Period' (hears the voice of Charlie Higson's 'Johnny Nice Painter' off The Fast Show). Definitely influenced by Polish posters. I was also exploring a big bold graphic style and the juxtaposition of large forms against small details. I'm also referencing the film 'Marathon Man' and I think I was channeling Otl Aicher and Pierre Soulages – if that's at all possible?
